DJD Teams With Community Food Bank for Hurricane Sandy Relief

In light of the recent devastation caused across New Jersey and beyond by Hurricane Sandy, D’Arcy Johnson Day has partnered with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey to procure food items to help those in need this Thanksgiving season.

To help jump-start the effort, DJD has committed to donate 300 turkeys to the Community Food Bank as part of the Food Bank’s Holiday Turkey & Food Drive on Saturday, November 10th. To encourage everyone to donate, Cat Country 107.3 will be doing a remote broadcast at the Food Bank’s facility at 6735 Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township from 12pm to 2pm, complete with giveaways and music. The Food Bank will accept donations of frozen turkeys (never fresh), canned soups & stews, canned fruits & vegetables, pasta, rice, grains, and other non-perishable foods (no glass jars or bottles, please).

Tomorrow, Lite Rock will be accepting donations at the ShopRite in Somers Point from 11am to 1pm.  If you cannot make it tomorrow, donations will also be accepted on Saturday, November 10th (11am-1pm) at the ShopRite in Egg Harbor Township, and again on Saturday, November 17th (11am-1pm) at the ShopRite in Marmora. More information is available by clicking the above links to the Lite Rock web site.
